Martyr of Her Own Demise
If you are a living, breathing human being in America and watch TV, surf the Internet or goes grocery shopping and see the tabloid magazines at the checkout it is very hard to miss the downward spiral of Britney Spears. Right before our eyes we are watching the pop princess once loved by fans become a martyr of her own demise, and the media is making a financial killing from it. It is estimated by some sources, that in the first half of 2007 the media outlets that cover her every move made approximately $2.39 billion dollars, which is highly profitable being that traditional media advertising is declining. Paparazzi has invaded her privacy in swarms catching everything thing from her divorce to Kevin Ferderline, being in and out of rehabs, shaving her head bald, her arrest after the traffic accident, and losing her kids and visitation rights.

It was also reported that Britney spears pictures sell anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000. X17online.com, which is a paparazzi agency in LA received $500,000 for the famous picture of Britney shaving her head bald.

Gimme More
So whose fault is it? Did she bring this on her self? Is it the fault of the multi billion dollar celebrity news industry? Or is it us the American people that feed this monster by keeping our eyes glued to the news of her next blunder. One reporter said, “When Britney sinks to a new low, the cash flows.” They are feeding us and we continue to eat it;her picture was on the cover of one tabloid magazine 54 out of 103 issues, since January 2006. We live in a give me more society, it’s like we can’t get enough and the celebrity news industry knows this.
The Good Samaritan meets Britney
I don’t really get this emotional about these celebrities and their issues that our plastered all over, I must say this one got me. My heart goes out to her, watching her fall into the hands of the vicious paparazzi predators as they strip her of her dignity and sanity and leaving her half dead on the side of the road is a hard sight to stomach. In the spirit of the Good Samaritan, I can’t just turn my head from the situation as if it is not happening, but must stop bandage her wounds through prayer and use my voice on this blog as a means to awaken the conscience of the American people and the celebrity news industry. To be continued…
