Let’s break this down. I’ll start with ‘three hands’. This is derived from a 16th century king, who had an armor bearer that carried all of the kings arms. (I don’t know if it is this century, but it was a long time ago) While in war, the king was riding on his horse and happened to look over at his armor bearer, and what he saw astonished him, (imagine Neo from the matrix fighting the sentinel intelligent agents) the armor bearer was fighting so hard that it looked like he had three hands. Hence, he gave him the name “tre”-meaning three and”mayne” meaning hands, Tre-mayne.
Ok, let’s look at ‘digital’. To my surprise,and help from wikipedia, digital derives from the Latin word digi, which literally means counting finger. How ironic! Anyway, digital is the format in which I will be converting my thoughts and feelings to converse within the blogoshpere.
Connection. As you can see I am an etymologist. (I love the origin of words.) Upon revelation of learning what my name meant, I always said that I have a third hand mystically guiding me through life, and giving me the strength to fight for meaning in every situation I find myself in. I believe this third hand is the hand of God, and hopefully the hand of God will appear in every area of interaction that we have here on this blog.
