God or Google?

What about Me?
I must admit, I am guilty as charged and I know that I am not alone. Have you ever got a thought or idea and in an instant, you subconsciously jumped on the keyboard, goto the web browser, and type in w-w-w.g-o-o-g-l-e.c-o-m. Make your request to the Holy Grail of search engines, and “voi-la” an answer from the “Google Heavens” gives you pages upon pages of listings from every angle you can think of. You scroll down with the anticipation of a shopper at the clearance rack searching for a deal, looking for the web page of your request. Honestly, the instant gratification is so satisfying in that moment, while secretly in the midst of your thoughts you hear a still small voice speak to you and say, “What about Me?”

Touched by Google…
I was reading an article in Laptop Magazine named “Is Google Good or Evil?” and it really made some interesting points. Google has made it really hard for us to stay out of its presence, being touched by it via G-mail, Google Maps, Google News, Blogger, YouTube (Google bought for billions of dollars…), Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Calender, and the list goes on and on. Pretty soon they will have a Google-branded cell phone called the GPhone. Where will they not be? Looking to get into every space we call home. Some will even go as far as saying they are omnipresent.

This company has successfully tapped into every human beings innate searching capability. The longing of every man’s heart is wired to know and to be known, especially by our Creator. Adam and Eve’s demise came through an opportunity to search. When we learn to set the “search browser” of our heart on the Knowledge of God, He will allow us to search His expansive data base that makes Google look like a drop in a bucket.

So much more can be said about this, so I will open up the floor to hear what you have to say. I believe God can show us how to use this tool to reconcile His creation back to Himself.

3handsdigital: “The Meaning, The Movement”

3handsdigital

Let’s break this down. I’ll start with ‘three hands’. This is derived from a 16th century king, who had an armor bearer that carried all of the kings arms. (I don’t know if it is this century, but it was a long time ago) While in war, the king was riding on his horse and happened to look over at his armor bearer, and what he saw astonished him, (imagine Neo from the matrix fighting the sentinel intelligent agents) the armor bearer was fighting so hard that it looked like he had three hands. Hence, he gave him the name “tre”-meaning three and”mayne” meaning hands, Tre-mayne.

Ok, let’s look at ‘digital’. To my surprise,and help from wikipedia, digital derives from the Latin word digi, which literally means counting finger. How ironic! Anyway, digital is the format in which I will be converting my thoughts and feelings to converse within the blogoshpere.

Connection. As you can see I am an etymologist. (I love the origin of words.) Upon revelation of learning what my name meant, I always said that I have a third hand mystically guiding me through life, and giving me the strength to fight for meaning in every situation I find myself in. I believe this third hand is the hand of God, and hopefully the hand of God will appear in every area of interaction that we have here on this blog.

Break the 9-5 Holding Pattern From Your LIFE!

Allow the kingdom of God to break the 9-5 holding pattern from your life.

While sitting in front of my computer at work, I received an e-mail from a friend of mine telling me that, a mutual friend of ours has started their own business. Now, I know a lot of people that has attempted to start their own business, and I even have my own business with my wife, but for some reason, hearing this report, quickened me. It made so much sense, like a light bulb went on, and epiphany moment. The necessity of being financial interdependent is growing within all of us on some capacity. Why? I don’t know about you, but I do not know too many people, who are settled in working for the “man”. I believe at some level, this idea is totally against our innate nature. Now, I’m not saying for you stop what you are doing and quit your job right now, but what I am saying is work at the current job as if it were your own business, with the intention of breaking out of those four walls into your own opportunity to interdependently create income. What has God-given you? Now is the time to maximize these gifts, talents, and passions for His glory.
